    Dear

Through a national science foundation grant a group consisting of k12 , cc, university educators, and engineering professionals attended a national conference to address collaboration efforts to improve access to and interest in engineering education. Alabama had eleven representatives at this conference and began developing plans for increasing enrollment in engineering in alabama, especially from under represented groups of potential students.

Our alabama group is comprised of k12, cc, univ & engineering representatives which plans to continue to meet to more fully develop goals, objectives and outreach plans resulting in the establishment of a state-wide information structure, seamless curriculum from secondary to post-secondary to universities, and enhance awareness of of career opportunities in engineering.

this initiative is a national effort and alabama has the opportunity to become a model for the southeast in achieving collaborative efforts to improve access to engineering education.

Your support and participation is needed as we begin to develop and implementing strategies and plans to achieve this national initiative.

In the near future our state committee will have specific goals, objectives and strategies to share with you.
