On TV recently was a show demonstrating rather graphically that animals can think, have emotions, hate and even be vindicative. The disturbing part was the final message that the feeling of hate for certain other species is perhaps genetic, and that, as lions and hyenas are doomed from birth to hate and battle each other for life, we too are doomed genetically to hate and battle each other for life.
I believe it is true that we do have genetically driven hatreds not only for different races, but other clans of the same race as well. I believe it is what fuels the constant warring in the middle east, Europe, and possibly race problems here in America, and that it is aggravated by overcrowding and economic hardships. But although it may be ok for lions and hyenas, it isn't ok for us. Animals may think and have emotions, but I do not believe that they have been given as much control over their emotions as we have, and they do not hold the fate of the world in their paws. We do. So we must override our instincts as we have in so many other endeavors to advance as far as we have. War is no longer an environmentally feasible option for entertainment, settling disputes, improving the economy, or anything else. We must learn to control our feelings and cooperate with one another. Those who refuse to grow up and become human enough to overcome their animal instincts should be ostracized from the global community. Rather than sending aid and a peace-keeping force into countries engaged in sub-human tit-for-tat rivalries, we need to employ a large army surrounding the country to insure that they receive no supplies of any kind from the outside world until they decide to grow up and behave like human beings. Nothing should be allowed in and the only thing allowed out are refugees who are against the fighting. When the war is finally over, all participants, both victors and vanquished, should be required to serve two to five years in prison, together.
Brutality, by any other name, is still brutality, and it has to stop. To brand brutality as a racial dispute, or a union dispute, or even a domestic dispute, in an effort to somehow force the victim to share in the blame for his own assault is ridiculous. It attempts to try to imply that the guilty party wouldn't normally be that bad a guy. That he somehow lost control of himself because the other guy was either the wrong color or refused to join his union. That is baloney. Have you ever heard of a little wimpy guy flying into a helpless rage and attacking a half a dozen guys twice his size because they were either the wrong color or refused to join his union ? How about homes for battered husbands ? Me neither. Why do these poor victims of their own instincts always seem to both outnumber and outsize their victims? Simple answer folks. Because they enjoy doing it and they think they can get away with it.
This shouldn't have to be written as a law, but it may come to that. If a bunch of guys beat up or kill someone of a different race, its not a racial incident, its pre-meditated assault and battery, or pre-meditated murder, since racial hatred preceded the event, and ought to receive the appropriate punishment. If a bunch of Unionites go out into someone's grape vineyard and beat a couple of Mexicans to death for trying to start their own union, it's not a union dispute, its pre-meditated murder, and they ought to hang for it. If the union refuses to cough up the guilty parties, the union should be outlawed and all its assets confiscated. If a man beats up a woman, its not a domestic, it is assault and battery. America was born out of the need for and a belief in a place where one could expect and depend upon justice, without regard to race, creed or religion. I sincerely believe that most Americans believe in that. Or at least I hope so, because here's:
Social Law #1. Any violent crime that can be determined to be motivated either by racism, unionism, on any other 'ism will be considered a crime against the country and hence subject to Federal prosecution.
